Run a marketing project with Kanban: the example of a brand project
A Kanban board is often enough to hold a brand project together: each deliverable is a card, each stage a column. Here is how to set it up.
The columns
Five columns are enough: to do, in progress, in review, done, blocked. The “in review” column is the most useful in branding: it shows what is waiting for feedback or approval, and therefore what is holding the project up.
The cards
A card is a deliverable you can finish. For a brand project:
- Write the tone of voice, with examples.
- Choose the palette and check the contrast.
- Produce the logo in three versions.
- Prepare the downloadable kit.
Three simple rules
Limit the number of cards “in progress” so you finish before you start. Keep the “blocked” column visible: a blocker you can see gets solved faster. Give every card an owner.
When to add a Gantt
As soon as approvals depend on one another, for example a logo to approve before producing the templates, a timeline shows what a delay pushes back. FluidOps combines Kanban and Gantt in the same project.
