Brand launch checklist: 12 points to check before you publish
Before showing a brand to the public, it pays to check that everything holds together. Here are twelve points, in three groups, to tick off one by one.
The foundations
What must be clear before anything is designed.
- The brand’s mission fits in one sentence.
- The target audience is named.
- The brand’s principles are written down (three are enough).
- The name is available: domain, social networks.
The identity
What people see and hear.
- The logo exists in light, dark and square versions.
- The colors have enough contrast to be read.
- Two fonts at most, with their sizes.
- The tone of voice has examples: what we say, what we avoid.
The rollout
What lets others use the brand without you.
- The manual is readable by someone who didn’t work on the project.
- The kit can be downloaded: logos, colors, fonts.
- Templates are ready: presentation, email signature, social visuals.
- One person is responsible for updates.
Tracking it in a tool
Each point becomes a card on a Kanban board, with an owner and a date. Blocked points show immediately, and the launch happens only when the “done” column holds all twelve cards.
Do I need to have done everything to launch?
No, but decide with your eyes open. The foundations and the logo are essential; the rest can follow.
Who should approve the checklist?
Whoever decides for the brand. Name them when you scope the project.
